West African Drumming overview:
Recreate the rhythms of West Africa with this hand drumming workshop led by master drummers from Ghana & Senegal. All participants will have their own Djembe drum to play, and will learn drum calls, and how to produce different sounds using different parts of the hands. A composition will be created with several parts for everyone to play, culminating in a powerful and unified cultural composition. All in all, the experience of West African drumming is inspiring, inclusive, practical and a lot of fun for all involved.
Brazilian Samba Drumming overview:
Brazilian Samba drumming recreates the exotic carnival sounds of South America. With this exciting form of drumming, participants will learn to play simple rhythmic patterns on authentic Brazilian instruments such Agogo bells, Surdo drums and Tamborims.
